Module and IP Partners

During the course of the product development cycle, it is common for schedules to slip due to unforeseen design complexities, and many designs change mid-program to an easier but more costly alternative of using a modular sub-system.  Despite the increased unit cost, these sub-systems save development time and certification costs that can help bring a project back on schedule.

Making this decision to change later in a project can save a schedule, but it doesn't improve the budget.  Understanding modular product advantages and disadvantages helps SDS to make the best decisions at the beginning of the project.

SDS works closely with its Module and IP Partners to leverage their expertise.  These partnerships lower project risk, shorten the schedule, and reduce the design and certification costs for our customers.

Below is a list of some of our key module partners.

Wavecom is the leader for pre-packaged wireless communications solutions for automotive, industrial and mobile professional applications, with a wide range of fully integrated modules and modems.  Wavecom has chosen to partner with SDS because of our experience in the cellular products market.  SDS is working closely with Wavecom to provide reference design solutions for Wavecom's line of GSM mobile products.
